Frog!
Sketching on the train from NYC to Lancaster, PA
BEEN A WHILE! A lot has gone on in the last few months what with graduating, moving out of Savannah to Chicago, then moving out of Chicago to New York City to start my new job at the Society of Illustrators in New York City!
But here are a couple images I have done!
This is a poster for a call for entries hosted by the University of Delhi that I was interested in. Writings by philosophers such as Aristotle, Nietszche and Plato have big influences on my life and their writings have also dealt with the ideas of the tragic and the comic. So it only seemed fitting to promote the event! Hope you enjoy!
“Karma”
Stone Litho
22x30
This image is apart of a group of sketches done in a hand-made sketchbook over a 3 day period and is the first sketch from the beginning of the second day.
Here are a few figures drawn on the way to Chicago from Downers Grove, IL with two of my good friends Nick Sadek and Steph Koblich, whom are also illustrators, great ones at that!
There will be more to come once I have compiled the other images. Enjoy
Here is a Rembrandt replication I started working on a couple weeks ago. It’s a work-in-progress with a long road ahead to completion. This is one of the few oil paintings I have done, but I love the ability to sculpt the form into just what you are looking for. I can’t wait to go back and layer with more brilliant colors and correct issues such as proportion or lighting. It’s always a great feeling when you get something right after you got it wrong.
“Fresh Fish”
Took a lithography class this past quarter for the first time and came up with some fun imagery. Enjoy!
(If anyone who sees this is interested in this, I have more prints available for purchase as well! Email me at jrr.illustration@gmail.com)
